Cotto d’Este

Designed by IND Architecture Studio, this installation—which makes use of Kerlite ultra-thin slabs—is highly evocative. This ceramic material takes on a completely new form, featuring two trees set against a minimalist backdrop; all elements are crafted from Kerlite, with a surface finish and color matching that of the pavement.

The bases of the trees consist of two panels of the new Cement Engineering Colored-20 decorative finish. The foliage is meticulously assembled from 6,000 small slabs: 1,000 of them are Kerlite with an ultra-white finish, while the rest are made of translucent acrylic to enhance light transmission.
