Currently on view, the “Bloomberg Pavilion” is an outdoor installation designed by the Japanese firm Akihisa Hirata Architects, which will serve as an ever-changing exhibition stage at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Tokyo.
Trees have symbolic shapes. They provide shade while also offering an ideal space for people. I wondered: What would happen if walls grew upward, forming a surface that was uneven, like “pleats”?
