The Event of a Thread
Visual artist Ann Hamilton combines the fleeting nature of time with her signature exploration of materiality to create a new large-scale installation for the Wade-Thompson Drill Hall. Commissioned by the Armory, the installation takes the form of a line that reflects the Armory’s architectural style, as well as the personal experiences and gatherings that have shaped its rich social history.
This multisensory work integrates readings, sound, and live performances, connecting visitors to one another’s actions and to the artwork itself, while revealing the experiences of individual and collective bodies, as well as the relationship between animals and humans.
