My Red Homeland
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of MAMC+, the museum has invited renowned British artist of Indian descent, Anish Kapoor. This marks the first time Kapoor has exhibited his installation My Red Homeland in France, along with new original works.
At the center of the museum stands a red wax installation measuring 12 meters in diameter and weighing 20 metric tons. This artwork, permanently cast from a single block of steel, completes a full rotation in less than an hour. It is titled My Red Homeland. Surrounding it are sculptures reminiscent of emaciated bodies, as well as mirrors that distort and invert reality.
